The end of Constipation!

I think only a mom who has dealt with a kid with serious constipation would understand my excitement right now. BB is in the middle of potty training. She has the peeing down. But REFUSES to go poop. Her refusing to go poop caused her not to be able to go at all. I was really getting worried because she kept telling me that her tummy hurt. I'm sure it did. I really didn't want to go to the doctor if I didn't have to so I made phone calls and consulted WebMD. First thing I learned is that milk/dairy can cause constipation. Hmmm BB's favorite foods: milk, cheese and yogurt! So we cut out the dairy all together (temporarily). Then I bought her prune juice. Surprisingly she likes it. I have been making it into smoothies (add ice and blend) to change things up. I also had her drink alot of water. It has taken a week and two painful BMs, but today were back to normal.

My son had the same problem. He loves cheese and chocolate. These make for painful BMs! Our solution is LOTS of apple juice. Check the price, it may be chepaer than prune juice.

I have never had kids that really have this problem. Mostly we have the opposite problem :)
