FREE*

I love getting things FREE. I don't like things that say FREE with a "*" after it. That means it is not usually free. Yesterday was free* chicken sandwich at McDonald's. They are trying to be Chick-fil-a. I can't tell you the last time I went to McDonalds. It has been awhile. I went to let Bekah play so I could read a book. I went in knowing that the "*" was "with purchase of a medium or large drink". Which for me included an additional purchase of a Happy Meal.

My birthday is coming up and I am enrolled in every birthday club known to man - that is close to my house. I think that all birthday club offers should be free items without strings attached. Many of them do and I have no problem going in getting my free item and leaving. I get annoyed when places like Friendly's offers me FREE* ice cream "with additional purchase". That isn't free.

Ironically, I also believe that nothing in life is free. Everything costs someone something. FREE offers and samples cost the company money in exchange for the possiblity that I will like their product and become a regular customer. In the case of McDonald's this did not work. Sorry I'm not giving up my Chick-fil-A.

I too went to the free* chicken sandwich giveaway at McDonald's. I posted about it in my Menu Plan Monday. It was are real disappointment. I'm not a fan of Chick-Fil-A and McD's was even worse. :( They should just stick with burgers.

I'll forgive you for not liking Chick-fil-a. :)

I agree about McD's sticking to burgers. I know someone important said "Do one thing and do it well". Chick-fil-a is a good example of that. They do chicken. McD's is trying to be all things to all people and it's not working. Do burgers and do them well.
